“Things come to those who wait, but only left by those who hustle”
~ Abraham Lincoln
I never cared much about time. I was never good at time management to begin with, but I also lived a life that allowed me to own my time.
I thought that because I was a barber and entrepreneur, I had the option to come and go as I pleased. Through maximizing my craft, opportunities opened for me to have people work around my schedule, which left me not having to plan much. I mastered the good old, “I do what I want, when I want” mentality and, truth be told, is what stop me in my tracks to creating any real success in my life. that very attitude would soon damage my beliefs that I can become valued.
How to Create My Value:
- Work on yourself.
- Work harder on yourself than your Job.
- Measure your time.
- Read books in your industry or a biography.
- Attend seminars.
- Interview successful people.
- Networking with others.
- Study other successful people and or businesses.
- Become uncomfortable.
- Be an Action Taker!
Be More Than Average
It is up to you to decide if and when you are ready to become more valuable. Do you want to be better than average? If so, you have to start becoming better with your time.
There are 1,440 minutes or 86,400 seconds in a 24 hour day. What will you do with time?
If you have any desire of excellence you cannot afford to do what average people do with their time. How do you beat being just average? Find out what the average people do and “DO” the opposite! The Great inspirational speaker Jim Rohn states “if you want anything in life make it a study.” I decided to study success, happiness, and business. By studying successful people in our world today and there action steps, struggles and disciplines they mastered to achieve their successes, is what will cut your learning curve in half and help you fast track your own excellence. Do Not dwell on your last success it become the enemy to creating a new success.
Learn form mistakes; but they don’t always have to be your mistakes. – Warren Buffett
You must make yourself a believer. I’ve learned that if you do not believe in yourself, you can’t expect anyone else to believe in you. Stand up! Take that hunger for greatness upon yourself, and hold yourself accountable; in fact take it a step further seek out an accountability partner! Average people depend on average efforts, and average people makes the average excuses. Such as so; I don’t have enough time, it’s not my fault, train your mind to think positive thoughts, because what you think about you become.
You may ask, how will I know when I become an valuable person? Well here is a few examples…..
People seeks your advice, you are in high demand, when you speak they listen. You are quick to jump to go over and beyond, always looking for a way to give.
We have to do more than we get paid for. Be valuable. Once you submerge yourself into doing more than your paid for, your value will increase.
At some point you will be forced to change. The reason why most people never become who they truly want to be is because they are too busy being the person they was in the past. Focus on becoming excellence, why settle for less? Time waits for no man.
